It should show cable length, breaker size, trenching, permits, and inspection fees.
Long-term value depends on daily charging needs. The International Energy Agency reported more than 14 million electric cars sold globally in 2023, increasing pressure on convenient home charging. A 7.2-kilowatt station may refill many vehicles overnight, but a larger unit can require expensive electrical work. Bigger is not always better. Check your vehicle’s maximum AC charging rate first. A load-management feature may reduce upgrade costs, especially in homes with electric heating or older wiring.
Read the warranty carefully. Confirm coverage periods for the unit, cable, connector, and internal electronics. Check whether labor, shipping, outdoor exposure, and software failures are included. Three to five years is common in residential equipment, but coverage differs sharply. Installer workmanship may carry a separate warranty. Keep both documents. A low upfront price can lose its appeal after one failed service visit.
